Timestamps in your transcripts provide valuable context by showing when specific parts of a meeting occurred. However, there are instances where you may prefer a cleaner transcript without timestamps.

For example, when sharing meeting notes with clients, preparing transcripts for formal reports or presentations, or simply focusing on the content without the distraction of time markers, removing timestamps can enhance readability and ensure a polished appearance.

This article explains when and how to remove timestamps from your Tactiq transcripts.

How to configure time display settings

Follow these steps to configure the time display in your transcripts:

  • Go to the Tactiq dashboard and navigate to Account & Settings.

  • Under Account & Settings, select Settings. In the Settings menu, go to the General tab.

  • Look for the entry labeled Configure time display in the transcript.

  • From the dropdown menu, select one of the following options:

Option

Time display in the transcript

Time since the meeting start

This option will display timestamps starting at 00:00 from the beginning of the call.

Exact time

This option will display the exact time, such as 9:39:22 AM.

No timestamps

This option will remove all timestamps from the transcript.

Notes:

  • Hiding timestamps does not delete them; they remain available if you decide to show them again.

  • The selection you make will automatically apply to your meetings. When you open a meeting transcript, it will reflect the time display setting you have chosen.

  • Exported files will reflect the current view (with or without timestamps) based on your settings.
