To turn off the automated chat notification, go to your Tactiq account settings and set the Transcription Notification option to Disabled.

Turn off the automatic chat message

  • Find Transcription Notification then change the setting from Always notify that the transcription is active to Disabled

💡 Note: If you're on the Free plan, the notification will always appear and cannot be turned off. To manage this setting, consider upgrading to a Pro or Team plan.

Choose whether to notify participants each time

If you want to decide case-by-case whether to notify people in the meeting:

  • In Transcription Notification, choose Default Prompt or Always Prompt

  • When the meeting starts, a small window will appear (visible only to you)

  • Choose Yes, This Time to notify participants or Not This Time to skip it

💡 Note: If no option is selected before the timer ends, the system will send a default notification:

  • Default Prompt will default to notifying everyone in all future meetings

  • Always Prompt will only send the notification for the current meeting

What the notification looks like

Tactiq’s default message says:

“Hi everyone, this is an automated message to let you know my Tactiq extension is transcribing this meeting for me so I can give my full attention to you.”

You can prevent this message by adjusting your settings as described above.
