Trigger types in Tactiq determine how workflows start, helping you automate tasks and streamline meeting processes. This guide explains the difference between manual and automatic triggers, outlining when each is applicable to help you choose the best option for your workflows.
You’ll find this guide useful when setting up new workflows, optimizing existing ones, or automating repetitive actions within Tactiq.
Selecting a trigger type
When creating a workflow, you will be prompted to choose a trigger type:
Manual
: Starts when you manually select it in a meeting.
Automatic
: Runs when predefined conditions are met.
Using Manual trigger workflows
Manual triggers are best used when you want full control over when a workflow runs. This is useful for:
Meetings with varying conditions where automation isn’t suitable
Running workflows only when specific actions need to be taken
Reviewing information before triggering actions
To use a manual trigger
Go to your
Meetings
page and select the meeting where you want to run the workflow.
Choose the workflow from the list on the right. Click to run the workflow manually.
Using Automatic trigger workflows
Automatic triggers are ideal for workflows that should run without manual intervention. They ensure consistency and save time by automating repetitive actions.
Use Automatic trigger when:
You want workflows to start based on predefined conditions
There are recurring meeting patterns where manual execution is unnecessary
Automating repetitive tasks, such as sending meeting summaries or notifications
Automatic workflows are triggered based on conditions related to:
Variable | Condition Options | Description |
| is, contains | Triggers when a meeting has a specific title or includes certain keywords. |
