How to set up Tactiq for Google Calendar

Written by Amelia Lim

Connecting your Google Calendar lets Tactiq match your transcripts to your meetings, and the add-on lets you open those transcripts without leaving your calendar.

Connect your Google Calendar

This is the step that does the work. Do this first.

  1. Go to Account & SettingsIntegrationsGoogle Calendar.

  2. Click Connect: Sign in with Google and sign in with your Google account.

  3. Approve the permissions Google asks for.

Once your calendar is connected:

  • Participant details from your calendar event are available to your workflows, so you can email everyone who was invited.

  • Repeating meetings are labelled automatically with the Recurring meeting label.

Install the Tactiq add-on for Google Calendar

The add-on puts Tactiq in your Google Calendar sidebar so you can get to a transcript without switching tabs.

  1. Click Install, select your Google account, then click Continue.

  2. Approve the permissions to add Tactiq to Google Calendar.

📌 Note: The add-on is a shortcut for getting to your transcripts, not a replacement for connecting your calendar. If you install it without connecting your calendar first, it shows an Almost there… message instead of your meetings.

FAQ

The add-on says "Almost there…" instead of showing my meetings

Your Google Calendar isn't connected to Tactiq yet. Go to Account & SettingsIntegrationsGoogle Calendar and click Connect: Sign in with Google.

Once you've connected, refresh Google Calendar.

The add-on shows "Welcome to Tactiq!" and asks me to install the extension

Tactiq can't find an account for the Google address you're using in Google Calendar. Check you're signed in to Google Calendar with the same Google account you use for Tactiq.

If you connected your calendar by signing in with Google rather than through the Integrations page, Tactiq may only have permission to read your calendar, not to write to it.

Go to Account & SettingsIntegrationsGoogle Calendar and click Connect: Sign in with Google, then approve the permissions. This upgrades your existing permission — you don't need to disconnect first.

Go to Account & SettingsIntegrationsGoogle Calendar, find Append Tactiq transcript links to your calendar events, and turn it off. Meetings transcribed after that won't include the link.

To remove a link from an existing recurring meeting, open the calendar event, delete the Tactiq line from the description, click Save, and choose All events when prompted.
