Tactiq for macOS (Beta) lets you transcribe Zoom Desktop meetings without using a browser extension. Once the app is installed and you’re signed in, every Zoom meeting you join will be captured and uploaded to your Tactiq dashboard when the call ends.

Requirements

macOS (Apple Silicon or Intel)
Zoom Desktop Client, up to date
A Tactiq account. Create one at tactiq.io

💡 Note: The Mac app transcribes Zoom Desktop meetings. To transcribe Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, use the browser extension.

Install the Tactiq Mac app

Open your Tactiq dashboard and go to Integrations.
Find the Mac app for Zoom Desktop and select Download.
Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag Tactiq into your Applications folder.

Launch Tactiq from Spotlight or your Applications folder. When macOS asks whether to open an app downloaded from the internet, select Open.
When you open Tactiq for the first time, the app guides you through setup step by step.

Grant permissions and sign in

Sign in to your Tactiq account, grant Microphone access and Screen & System Audio access, then run the test call to confirm your audio works.

Start transcribing

Open the Tactiq app, then join or start your Zoom meeting as usual. Tactiq starts transcribing when the meeting starts, and a Transcription has started notification confirms it is running.

💡 Note: On a paid plan with Always ask about transcribing turned on in your settings, Tactiq asks before it starts. Select Yes to transcribe the meeting, or No to skip it.

The Tactiq App menu appears in your Mac menu bar during the meeting. Open it to see what Tactiq is currently transcribing, select Pause Transcribing, or select Open Tactiq to go to your dashboard.

What happens after your meeting

When your meeting ends, Tactiq notifies you that it is processing your transcription. A second notification tells you when the transcript is ready to view. You can find your meeting in your Tactiq dashboard.

FAQ

Does the app work on iPad or iPhone?

The Mac app works on Mac laptops and desktops. To transcribe on other devices, use the browser extension.

My Zoom meeting didn't show up in the dashboard.

Transcripts sync using your calendar event title. If the meeting wasn't on your calendar, it'll appear as "Meeting Transcription" with a timestamp.

When is the Windows version coming?

Does a bot join my Zoom meeting?

No. Tactiq captures audio through macOS instead of joining as a participant, so nothing appears in the Zoom participant list.
