The Tactiq Mac app transcribes Microsoft Teams calls held in the Teams desktop app, so you no longer need to move a meeting into your browser to capture it.
Requirements
macOS (Apple Silicon or Intel)
The Microsoft Teams desktop app
The Tactiq Mac app, installed and signed in
A Tactiq account. Create one at tactiq.io
📌 Note: Tactiq App only picks up Teams meetings in the MS Teams desktop app.
Install the Tactiq Mac app
Open your Tactiq dashboard and go to Integrations.
Find the Mac app for under the section
Tactiq appsand selectDownload.Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag Tactiq into your Applications folder.
Launch Tactiq from Spotlight or your Applications folder. When macOS asks whether to open an app downloaded from the internet, select
Open.When you open Tactiq for the first time, the app guides you through setup step by step.
Grant permissions and sign in
Sign in to your Tactiq account, grant
Microphone accessandScreen & System Audio access, then run the test call to confirm your audio works.
Start transcribing
Leave the Tactiq app running.
Join or start your MS team meeting as usual.
Tactiq starts transcribing when the meeting starts. A
Transcription has startednotification will confirm it is running.
💡 Note: On a paid plan with Always ask about transcribing turned on in your settings, Tactiq asks before it starts. Select Yes to transcribe the meeting, or No to skip it.
The Tactiq App menu appears in your Mac menu bar during the meeting. Open it to see what Tactiq is currently transcribing, select
Pause Transcribing, or selectOpen Tactiqto go to your dashboard.
What happens after your meeting
When you leave or end the call, Tactiq notifies you that it is processing your transcription, then notifies you again when the transcript is ready. You'll find it in your Tactiq dashboard.

Yes, if you also join Teams meetings in a browser or via the Teams PWA, or use Google Meet. The Mac app currently covers Teams, Zoom, and Slackhuddle desktop calls only.

No. Tactiq captures audio via macOS rather than joining as a participant, so nothing appears in the Teams participant list.
