Tactiq allows you to transcribe meetings in over 30 languages, including English, French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Mexico), and Spanish (Spain).

Whether you’re using Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams, you can change the transcription language during a meeting to suit your needs.

Change the language using the Tactiq widget

For quick access, you can adjust the language directly on the Tactiq widget, whether the widget is maximized or minimized.

Minimized Widget: Click on the current language displayed on the widget and select your preferred language from the list.

Maximized Widget: Click Change on the blue banner of the widget. This will open a menu with different language options. Choose your preferred language.

Note: If the transcript language was set incorrectly during a meeting, Tactiq does not currently support reprocessing the transcript in a different language after the meeting has ended.

Change the language using the caption settings for each platform

You can also change the language through the caption settings of your meeting platform.

Note: Just remember that language settings are specific to each platform. You'll need to adjust them individually for Google Meet, Zoom, and Teams.

Google Meet

  • Click the CC icon (Show/Hide Native Captions) on the widget or meeting panel.

  • Choose the language that matches your meeting from the available options.

Zoom

  • Click the small arrow next to Show Captions to access caption settings.

  • Under Caption, select Caption Language and choose your preferred language.

Microsoft Teams

  • Click on More at the top of the bar, then Language and Speech. This opens the Caption Settings where you can change the caption and spoken language.

  • Select Update on the prompt to change the Spoken Language and the Caption Language.

  • Alternatively, you can also click on Show/Hide Native Captions (the CC icon) and click the gear icon to change the Spoken Language and the Caption Language.

FAQs

Help! I can't change the language on MS Teams!

If you're attending a meeting on MS Teams as a participant, you can ask the host to change the meeting language.

I don't see the widget appearing on the desktop version of the meeting platform

Tactiq currently works with Google Meet, Zoom, and MS Teams through the web browser extension.

If you would like to see Tactiq transcribing on the desktop version in the future, you can submit your feature request via [email protected].

What languages does Tactiq currently support?

Tactiq supports more than 30 languages. Here's an article on the list of languages that Tactiq supports - What Languages does Tactiq Support?

Does Tactiq support multiple languages in the same meeting?

Tactiq currently focuses on transcribing meetings in a single language at a time. Choose the language, and Tactiq will transcribe meeting notes and summaries in that language for you.

If the spoken language during your meeting didn’t match the language set in the Tactiq widget, you won't be able to change it.

Tactiq is not working on Zoom.

Ensure you’re using Zoom through a web browser. Tactiq currently supports Zoom transcription when accessed via a browser.

Make sure that these settings are enabled in In Meeting (Advanced) under Zoom settings.

  • Manual captions

  • Automated captions

  • Full transcript

  • Save Captions

Can I re-run the transcript in a different language after a meeting has already taken place?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to re-run a transcript in a different language for a meeting that has already taken place. The Tactiq widget transcribes meetings in real-time based on the language set before the meeting starts.

If the spoken language during your meeting didn’t match the language set in the Tactiq widget, you won't be able to change it.

However, if you have a recording of the meeting, you can upload it to Tactiq to generate a new transcript in the correct language. You can find a guide on how to do this here: How to Upload Video and Audio.

To prevent this issue in future meetings, make sure to set or verify the transcription language in the Tactiq widget before the meeting begins.
