How to upload video, audio, and transcripts to Tactiq

Learn how to upload transcripts, video, and audio files to Tactiq and use AI tools with your content.

You can upload transcript files, audio recordings, or video files up to 2GB to Tactiq and analyze them using AI.


This article shows how to upload supported files, choose transcription settings, and understand processing limits.

Accepted file types

You can upload the following file formats:

  • Text transcripts: vtt, txt, pdf, docx, odt

  • Presentations: pptx

  • Spreadsheets: xlsx, ods

  • Documents: odp, rtf

  • Audio and video: mp4, m4a, mp3, mov

How to upload your file

  • Go to your Tactiq dashboard and select Upload Transcript or Recording in the top right corner.

  • Drag and drop your file, or select Choose file.
    Optionally enter a meeting title and meeting start time. If no date is set, Tactiq uses the upload date.

  • Select the transcription language, or keep Auto-detect selected to let Tactiq detect the spoken language automatically.

  • Select Upload to start processing.
    Once uploaded, you can use Quick Prompts and AI tools to generate summaries, action items, and insights from your file.

📌 Note: You can remove timestamps from uploaded transcripts under Account & Settings > Settings > General.

FAQs

What languages are supported?


You can manually select English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Arabic.
If your language is not listed, keep auto-detect selected to allow automatic detection.

Why can’t I use AI tools on my upload?


AI features are only available for transcripts longer than 2 minutes.

Why is my upload taking a long time?


Large audio or video files may take up to 2 hours to process. If processing takes significantly longer, contact support.

Can I upload in-person meetings?


Yes. Record the meeting using a voice recorder or mobile app, then upload the file to Tactiq. For best results, use clear audio with minimal background noise.
