You can change the transcription language at any point during your meeting using either the Tactiq widget or your meeting platform’s caption settings (Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams). Tactiq supports over 30 languages.

Change the language using the Tactiq widget

Tactiq’s in-meeting widget lets you change the transcription language instantly—whether it’s minimized or expanded.

Minimized Widget: Click the displayed language on the widget, then select your preferred language from the dropdown.

Maximized Widget: Click Change on the blue banner, then choose your preferred language from the list.

💡 Note: Tactiq cannot retroactively change the language of a transcript after the meeting ends. Always update the language during the live meeting.

Change the language using the caption settings for each platform

Each platform (Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams) also allows you to adjust the caption language directly.

💡 Note: Remember that language settings are specific to each platform. You'll need to adjust them individually for Google Meet, Zoom, and Teams.

Google Meet

  • Click the CC icon (Show/Hide Native Captions) on the widget or meeting panel.

  • Choose the language that matches your meeting from the available options.

Zoom

  • Click the small arrow next to Show Captions to access caption settings.

  • Under Caption, select Caption Language and choose your preferred language.

Microsoft Teams

  • Click on More at the top of the bar, then Language and Speech. This opens the Caption Settings where you can change the caption and spoken language.

  • Select Update on the prompt to change the Spoken Language and the Caption Language.

  • Alternatively, you can also click on Show/Hide Native Captions (the CC icon) and click the gear icon to change the Spoken Language and the Caption Language.
