To install the Tactiq Desktop App on macOS, download it from the Tactiq banner or direct link, move it to your Applications folder, grant audio permissions, and start transcribing in Zoom.

Requirements

Before starting, make sure:

  • You have the Zoom Desktop Client for MacOs installed and up to date.

  • You are signed in to a Zoom account that allows app installations.

  • You have a Tactiq account (you can create one at tactiq.io).

Download the Tactiq macOS app

To get started:

  • Look for the banner at the top of the Tactiq dashboard that says
Tactiq is now available as a standalone app for Mac

  • Click the Install Now button to start the download

Install and Launch Tactiq

  • Open the app—macOS may ask: Tactiq is an app downloaded from the internet. Are you sure you want to open it?. Click Open.

Grant microphone and system audio access

When you first launch the app:

  • Tactiq will prompt you to allow audio access. Grant both:

    • Allow Microphone Audio Recording

    • Allow System Audio Recording

  • Once you have granted permission to both microphone and system audio recording, follow the prompt and sign in to your Tactiq account.

💡Note: You’ll be asked to sign in to your Tactiq account after granting permissions. Make sure this account matches the one you're using in Zoom.

Start transcribing on Zoom

Once the app is set up:

  • Open the Tactiq Desktop App.

  • Select your preferred transcription language and input microphone.

  • Open the Zoom Desktop App and start or join a meeting

Tactiq will automatically begin transcribing when you start speaking.

  • Once set, open the Zoom Desktop App and start or join a meeting—Tactiq will begin transcribing automatically once you start talking.
