Once connected, you can ask Claude to summarise your last call, find a decision someone made three weeks ago, draft a follow-up email from the action items, or prep for your next 1:1.
📌 Note: Tactiq is now available in the Claude connector directory add it in a couple of clicks, or set it up manually with the server URL. Either way, it connects as a connector in Claude.
What you'll need
A Claude account (Free, Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise)*
A Tactiq account
Everyone can connect to the MCP server. What it's allowed to read depends on your Tactiq plan:
Your plan | What the assistant can do |
Free or Pro | Search and list your meetings |
Team or higher | All of the above, plus read meeting details, summaries and short transcript excerpts |
*Free Claude accounts can only add one connector.
Add Tactiq from the Claude directory (quickest)
Tactiq is listed in Claude's connector directory, so you can add it without typing a server URL.
Go to the Tactiq listing in the Claude directory. You can also open Customize → Connectors in Claude, click Browse connectors, and search for Tactiq.
Click Connect.
On the Tactiq screen, click Allow to authorise the connection.
This links your Tactiq account to Claude and skips the manual setup below.
Add Tactiq manually (custom connector)
📌 Note: On Team and Enterprise plans, a Claude Owner or Primary Owner has to add the custom connector for the organization before anyone can connect. Pro and Max users can add it themselves.
Go to Customize → Connectors in Claude
Click + → Add custom connector
Then enter,
Name: Tactiq MCP
Remote MCP server URL:https://mcp.tactiq.ioClick Add, and you will be prompted next to authorise the app.
Click "Allow", and your Tactiq MCP is now connected to your Claude.
Setting it up for your whole team (Team & Enterprise)
Workspace Owners can add Tactiq once, so members don't need to enter the URL themselves.
Go to Organization settings → Connectors in Claude
Click Add → Custom → Web
Enter
https://mcp.tactiq.ioand click Add
Once added, each member goes to Customize → Connectors and clicks Connect to link their own Tactiq account.

Go further with skills
Connectors give Claude access to your data. Skills tell Claude what to do with it.
A skill is a saved set of instructions you'd otherwise type at the start of every conversation. Build one for Tactiq and you skip the setup every time. Claude already knows your workflow, which connector to use, and what format you want back.
Why they're worth building:
You stop repeating context ("use Tactiq", "give me bullet points", "focus on action items")
A multi-step workflow becomes a one-tap conversation starter
You can stack connectors - a skill can pull from Tactiq and your calendar and Notion in one prompt
On Team plans, skills can be shared so your whole team works the same way
How to create a Tactiq skill:
Go to Customize → Skills in Claude
Click + to create a new skill
Give it a name and write your instructions
Example skills to get started:
Skill name | Instructions to paste in |
After-meeting | I just got out of a meeting. Find my most recent Tactiq meeting, summarise the key decisions and action items, then ask if I want to turn any of them into a follow-up email. |
Weekly catch-up | Use Tactiq to find all my meetings from this week. Give me a brief summary of each and a combined list of open action items. |
1:1 prep | Search Tactiq for past 1:1s with [name]. Summarise what we covered last time, list any open commitments, and suggest two or three things worth discussing next. |
Good to know
Summaries require a Tactiq Team plan. On the free and Pro Tactiq plans, Claude can find your meetings but can't read the summary content. Upgrade to Tactiq Team to unlock the full experience.
Shared meetings are included. If a teammate ran a meeting and shared it with you (or it's in a shared space), Claude can find it. The same access rules as Tactiq itself apply.
New meetings need a moment. If you ask about a call that just ended, Tactiq may still be generating the summary. Claude will let you know and check back — give it a minute.
Don't include yourself in "meetings with…" searches. Every meeting in your Tactiq already includes you. Say "meetings with Sarah" — not "meetings with me and Sarah."
FAQ
Why do I see “The mcp:meetings:details permission is required to read meeting details”?
Why do I see “The mcp:meetings:details permission is required to read meeting details”?
This message means Claude is connected to Tactiq, but the connection does not have permission to read meeting details, summaries and short transcript excerpts
This can happen when:
You connected Claude while using a Free or Pro plan and later upgraded to a Team plan. Existing connections keep the permissions approved when they were first created, so the new Team permission is not added automatically.
The
Read meeting details and summariespermission was not selected underCustomise permissionsduring setup.
To update the connection:
In Claude, go to
Customize > Connectors.Find Tactiq and disconnect it. This removes the existing connection with the outdated permissions.
Click
Connectto link Tactiq again. On the Tactiq approval screen, confirm that
Read meeting details and summariesis selected.Click
Allowto create a new connection with the required permission.
After reconnecting, Claude should be able to access the meeting details and summaries available to your Tactiq account.
If Claude does not show the approval screen again:
In Tactiq, go to
Settings > MCP.Find the Claude connection under
Active connections.Revoke the connection.
Return to Claude and connect Tactiq again.
Revoking the connection forces a new authorization request, allowing you to review and approve the required permissions.
💡 The Read meeting details, summaries and short transcript excerpts permission requires an active seat on a Team plan. If you see an Upgrade button instead of the permission, ask your Team admin to assign you a seat before reconnecting.
I can't see the "Add custom connector" option
I can't see the "Add custom connector" option
If you don't see the option to add a custom connector, you're likely on a Team or Enterprise plan, where only an Owner or Primary Owner can add one. Ask your Claude admin to add https://mcp.tactiq.io under Organization settings > Connectors. Anthropic's admin steps are here: Add a custom connector.
