We understand that having captions displayed during your meetings can be distracting. Tactiq allows you to minimize or hide captions easily. Here's how you can do it.
Minimize the Tactiq widget
Click the minimize button on the Tactiq widget. This will reduce the widget’s size and hide it from view.
Toggle captions on/off
Google Meet
Click the
CCicon to hide the native captions. Your Google Meet will display a message, and the captions will be minimized below the video.
Click the
CCicon again to display captions.
Microsoft Teams
Click the
More Actionsmenu (three dots) in the meeting toolbar. Select turn off live captions.
Click the
More Actionsmenu (three dots) in the meeting toolbar. Go toSettings, thenAccessibility, and selectAlways show captions in my meetings.
Zoom
Click the
More Actionsmenu (three dots) in the Zoom toolbar. SelectCCcaptions, then chooseHide captions.
Click the more actions menu (three dots) in the Zoom toolbar. Select
CCcaptions, then chooseShow captions.
Confirm captions are hidden
Your meeting will display a confirmation message that the captions have been hidden.
To re-enable the captions, simply click the CC button again on the Tactiq widget.

How can I hide or completely remove the Tactiq widget?
There are two options depending on what you want to do:
If you simply want the widget out of the way:
You can minimize the Tactiq widget during your meeting. Tactiq will continue transcribing while the widget is minimized, unless you choose to pause or stop the transcription.
If you don’t want the Tactiq widget to appear at all:
You can uninstall the Tactiq browser extension and reload your meeting page. This completely removes the widget from your browser meetings.
Important: Once you uninstall the Tactiq extension, Tactiq will no longer transcribe your browser meetings. If you want to use Tactiq again later, you’ll need to reinstall the extension.
