Set the language people are speaking so Tactiq can generate a more accurate live transcript. You can change the language from the Tactiq widget during a Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams meeting. When needed, also update your meeting platform's caption language so both settings match.
💡 Note: Tactiq uses one active transcription language at a time. Change it before the conversation begins whenever possible. A language change applies to speech captured after the switch and does not reprocess earlier transcript text.
Before you start
Join the meeting in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Tactiq works through the browser extension and does not appear in the native Zoom or Microsoft Teams desktop apps.
Confirm that the Tactiq extension is installed and enabled.
Check the language shown in the Tactiq widget when the meeting starts, especially when the meeting will use a different language from your previous call.
Change the language in the Tactiq widget
In the minimized widget, select the displayed language.
In the expanded widget, select
Changeon the blueTranscribingbanner.Select the language people are speaking.
Confirm that the
Transcribingbanner shows the new language.
Tactiq will use the selected language for new speech in the live transcript. The selection remains active for future meetings until you change it again.
Match the language in Google Meet
Update Google Meet's meeting language if captions are off or the language shown in Meet does not match the conversation.

Google Meet will use the selected language for new captions. Make sure the language matches the one shown in the Tactiq widget.

The host must allow automated captions before you can use this setting.

Zoom will use the selected language for captions for all participants. The available languages depend on the host's automated caption settings.
💡 Note: If you see Request captions instead of Show captions, send the request to the host. After the host approves it, select the spoken language when prompted.

💡 Note: The meeting organizer, co-organizer, transcription initiator, or the person who started a feature that enabled transcription can change the meeting's spoken language. If the setting is unavailable, ask one of these people to update it.
